- Open your GPX file. Drop your .gpx (or KML, KMZ, FIT, TCX) into the viewer — it's read in your browser, never uploaded.
- Click Edit. Once the track is loaded, open the Edit panel.
- Make your changes. Trim the start or end, reverse the direction, merge in a second file, split at a point, smooth the elevation, or rename the track.
- Undo anything. Every change is reversible with full undo and redo — experiment freely.
- Download. Export the edited track as a GPX 1.1 file, with heart-rate and cadence preserved on the surviving points.
What you can do
- Trim — cut points off the start or end (a stray warm-up, a forgotten stop-the-watch tail).
- Reverse — flip the direction of travel. Timestamps are removed, since they no longer describe the route.
- Merge — load a second file and join the two into one continuous track.
- Split — pick a point and break the track into two files.
- Smooth elevation — apply a rolling average to tame a jagged, barometrically-noisy elevation profile.
- Edit metadata — change the track's name and description.
- Undo / redo — every edit is reversible, so you can experiment without fear.
What it deliberately doesn't do
This is a cleanup editor, not a route planner. On purpose, it does not draw new routes, move individual points around, or edit waypoints. If you need to plan a route from scratch or nudge points on a map, a dedicated planning tool such as komoot, Ride with GPS or BRouter is the right choice — then bring the result back here to view, tidy and export. We'd rather do a few things well than a lot of things badly.
Frequently asked questions
Is the GPX editor free and private?
Yes. It's free with no account, and your file is edited entirely in your browser — it is never uploaded to a server.
Does editing change my original file?
No. Editing happens on a copy in the browser; your original file on disk is untouched until you choose to download the edited version as a new GPX.
Does it handle large files?
Yes. Every operation is designed to stay fast even on very large tracks (tens of thousands of points), and undo/redo is always available.
