A ride or run that starts and ends at your front door quietly publishes your home address to anyone you share it with. Drop the file and the health check spots that loop, so you can redact the neighbourhood at both ends before you post it.

- Read the privacy finding. If the track begins and ends in the same place, the health check flags it as a privacy risk.
- Redact & download. Click Redact ends to drop the points near the start and finish, then export the safer GPX. Undo restores the original.
Formats & what's kept

- Preserved: The entire middle of your activity — its elevation, timestamps and sensors — plus any interior pass near home. Distance and duration recompute for the redacted track.
- Changed or dropped: The leading points within about 100 m of the very first fix and the trailing points within about 100 m of the last — the slice that pinpoints where you live.
A real example
You want to share a training loop that starts and finishes on your driveway. Redacting the ends makes the shared route begin and end about a block away, so the map no longer points at your house.

Privacy
This edit runs entirely in your browser using the W3C File API — your file is never uploaded, and your original is left untouched (the editor works on a copy). This tool makes no network requests at all to do its job; only route planning and snapping, which this tool doesn't perform, would ever send coordinates to a routing provider.
Frequently asked questions
Why remove both ends, not just one?
A loop that starts and ends at the same coordinates pinpoints home from either side. Trimming both the first and last neighbourhood breaks that, so neither end gives your address away.
How much of my track is removed?
Only the points within roughly 100 m of the very start and the very end — a short slice, not your whole warm-up or cool-down. The core of the activity is untouched.
What if I ride past my house mid-route?
Interior passes are kept — only the leading and trailing neighbourhood is redacted. The tool flags the start/end loop, not every time you happen near one spot.
Is anything uploaded to do this?
No. The redaction runs entirely in your browser and your original file is never modified — you download a new, safer copy.
