Steps

  1. Open the Suunto app. On your phone, open the Suunto app (signed in to your account).
  2. Go to routes / map. Open the map or routes section and choose to import a route.
  3. Select your GPX. Upload or pick your .gpx to add it as a route.
  4. Sync the watch. Sync your Suunto watch; the route becomes available under navigation.

Quirks & limits

  • Only compatible Suunto watches support route navigation; check your model.
  • Watches limit how many routes / points they hold — very dense tracks may be simplified.

See the route before you upload it

Not sure the file is the right one? Drop it into the viewer first — you'll see the full track on a map with distance, elevation and speed. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a GPX route onto a Suunto watch?

Import the GPX as a route in the Suunto app, then sync the watch. The route appears under the watch’s navigation.

Does every Suunto watch support GPX routes?

Only models with navigation do. Check your watch’s specs — the Suunto app will still store the route regardless.
