Activity & route apps

Strava → Strava accepts GPX directly. komoot → When you import a GPX into komoot it becomes a Tour — a route you can view, tweak and navigate. AllTrails → Importing a GPX into AllTrails as a custom map is an AllTrails+ (paid) feature. Ride with GPS → Ride with GPS can import a GPX as a Route (a planned line with cue sheets that syncs to bike computers) or as a Ride (a recorded activity). Gaia GPS → Gaia GPS imports GPX directly — both on the web and in the app — and syncs it across your account. OsmAnd → OsmAnd opens GPX directly on both Android and iOS, and can navigate it offline — a strong choice when you have no signal.

Maps

Google Maps → Google Maps can’t open a GPX directly. Google Earth → Google Earth Pro (the free desktop app) imports GPX directly. Apple Maps → Apple Maps cannot import GPX — there is no “open in Apple Maps” for a .

GPS watches & bike computers

Garmin → Garmin Connect can import a GPX two ways: as an Activity (it lands in your history) or as a Course (a route you can send to a device and navigate). Wahoo ELEMNT → A Wahoo ELEMNT gets routes through its companion app — either imported as a GPX in the app, or synced automatically from a linked service like Komoot, Ride with GPS or Strava. Suunto → You add a GPX route to a Suunto watch through the Suunto app: import the route there, then sync it to the watch to navigate. COROS → A COROS watch gets routes through the COROS app: import the GPX there, sync the watch, and start the route from the watch’s Navigation. Polar → You import a GPX route into Polar Flow, then sync it to a compatible Polar watch to navigate.

Which apps can open a GPX file?

Most fitness and mapping platforms accept GPX — Strava, Garmin Connect, komoot, Ride with GPS, Gaia GPS and OsmAnd all import it directly. Google Maps and Apple Maps are the exceptions: Google Maps needs a KML/KMZ via My Maps, and Apple Maps can't import GPX at all.
