Frequently asked questions

Which apps can open a GPX file?

Most fitness and mapping platforms accept GPX — Strava, Garmin Connect, komoot, Ride with GPS, Gaia GPS and OsmAnd all import it directly. Google Maps and Apple Maps are the exceptions: Google Maps needs a KML/KMZ via My Maps, and Apple Maps can't import GPX at all.

How do I move a GPX route onto my GPS watch or bike computer?

Import the GPX into the brand's app or web platform (Garmin Connect, the Suunto/COROS app, Polar Flow, or the Wahoo ELEMNT app), then sync the device. Import it as a Course/Route — not an activity — so it's navigable.
