Open a GPX file in OsmAnd

OsmAnd opens GPX directly on both Android and iOS, and can navigate it offline — a strong choice when you have no signal.

Steps

  1. Save the GPX to your device. Download the .gpx to your phone.
  2. Import it into OsmAnd. Open OsmAnd → Menu → My Places → Tracks and use the import control, or use the system “Open with → OsmAnd”.
  3. Show the track. The track displays on the map; tap it to see details.
  4. Navigate it. Tap the track → Directions / Navigate to follow it, working offline once the region’s map is downloaded.

Quirks & limits

  • OsmAnd is free with a capped number of offline map downloads; the core offline navigation is free.
  • For offline use, download the region’s map before you head out.
