Open a GPX file in Gaia GPS

Gaia GPS imports GPX directly — both on the web and in the app — and syncs it across your account. (The route to Gaia GPS is one the other big “open in” guide leaves as a dead link; here it just works.)

Steps

  1. Sign in to Gaia GPS. Log in at gaiagps.com (or open the app).
  2. Open the import control. On the web, choose Import / the “+” control; in the app, use “+” → Import → Files.
  3. Select your GPX file. Upload or pick your .gpx.
  4. Find it in your saved items. The track is saved and syncs to your other devices for viewing and navigation.

Quirks & limits

  • Basic import and viewing work on a free account; premium map layers and offline map downloads need a subscription.
  • Large GPX files import fine but can be slow to sync on mobile data.
