Open a GPX file in Ride with GPS
Ride with GPS imports a GPX as a Route (a planned line you can navigate and send to a bike computer) or as an Activity (a recorded ride). Choose Route if you want to follow it.

Steps
- Sign in to Ride with GPS. Log in at ridewithgps.com.
- Open the uploader. Click “Upload” in the site’s navigation.
- Choose your GPX file. Click “Browse Files” and select your .gpx.
- Save it as a route or an activity. Choose “Save as a Route” to plan and navigate it, or “Add to My Activities” for a recorded ride. A route can then go to a Garmin, Wahoo, Hammerhead or COROS unit with “Send to Device”.
Quirks & limits
- Save as a Route (not an Activity) if you want to navigate it or send it to a head unit — Send to Device works on the free Starter plan.
- An imported route only gives turn-by-turn prompts if it carries a cue sheet; building one for an imported line uses the Trace tool, a Premium feature.
- Activity files without timestamps are rejected, and duplicate activities are skipped.
